Warranty applications

Warranty is restricted to Taiwan district only (Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen and Matsu).
|
|
•
|
UPMOST reserves the right to modify terms of product warrant. Any modification of the terms will be announced on UPMOST official website without specific notification.
|
|
•
|
Terms beyond the coverage of UPMOST warrant terms will be based on the regulations of Taiwan's Consumer Protection Act.
|

Identification of warranty
|
|
Customers who claim maintenance to products under warranty need to present relevant warrant documents to ensure an instant process of maintenance. Following are the ways to identify warranty:

Product warranty is identified according to the warranty period annotated on warranty card.
|

Warranty period starts from the date after purchase annotated on the warranty card. Please have the retailer certified your date of purchase by filling and stamping the warranty card. Without providing warranty card annotated with purchase date, UPMOST will regard the date recorded on the warranty sticker as the purchase date to identify the warranty period. (A dated receipt is acceptable as proof of the purchase date to identify warranty period.)

Re-issuing is unavailable if product warranty card is missing after purchase.

The warranty period annotated on the product warranty card is limited to the value of the product. The warranty of attached accessories and gifts such as AC adaptor, remote control is 3 month guarantee. The warranty of wire is 1 month guarantee.

Warrant conditions
|

UPMOST guarantees no defects of materials and manufactures. In the event of a defect belonging to machinery breakdown (non-manual damage) during guarantee period under normal circumstances of use, UPMOST products or distributor products are guaranteed with free-of-charge services of repair or new item replacement within warranty period (note 1), good item replacement (note 2), parts maintenance or recovery.

UPMOST is not obliged to prolong the warranty period of replaced new parts and accessories regarding to free-of-charge repair under warranty. Under the normal circumstance of use, the replaced parts or accessories regarding to charged maintenance after expiry of guarantee, UPMOST guarantees 3 month free-of-charge repair exclusively for replaced parts and accessories. Under the 3 month guarantee, any repair of other parts or accessories will be charged.

Due to the shortage of parts, shutdown or shortage of products, UPMOST will, after reaching an agreement with the customer, offer a product with the same or higher specifications for the customer to compensate the infeasible repair of the product under warranty. The customer will be accordingly credited for any price difference.

|
UPMOST is limited to be responsible for hardware maintenance but not for the rescue and custody of the customer's data stored in the hardware. The customer is obliged to process data backup before claiming maintenance.
|
|
•
|
Any assistance of software installation into computers from customer service department under warranty is restricted to computers having been installed with operating system. The customer should have been able to provide copyright version of system software (not duplicated version) before the assistance of installation or program set-up from any engineers of customer service department is requested. The customer will be credited for installation fee; otherwise, UPMOST customer service center is not obliged to accept any request.

The customer should process data backup prior to request any assistance of software installation into computers from customer service department under warranty. UPMOST is not liable for any damage or loss of data.
|
|

|
UPMOST will charge inspection fee for any repair after the expiry of warranty period. The repair will be processed after obtaining customer's consent. UPMOST will also give the quote for parts replacement or delivery back to original manufacturer (applicable for distributor products) according to inspection result. The cancellation of repair after inspection or being given the quote, UPMOST will charge fees of inspection and process. (note 4)

The product regarding to specific purchase project is guaranteed with warranty period designated in the purchase contract and in not applicable to the terms of the warranty conditions.
|

If the product is severely damaged and is regarded unavailable to be recovered after inspection, UPMOST reserves right to cease repair process.
|

|
Non-warrant conditions
|
|
Followings are non-warrant conditions. As for supporting the position of customer service, UPMOST provides maintenance service and charges fees of parts and service.
|
|

|
The warranty is invalid if the warrant serial numbers is removed, altered or damaged to cause failure to identify warranty.
|
|
•
|
The warranty does not cover damages caused by misuse, modification of the product or the specifications without any literary authorization from UPMOST, or application of accessories without UPMOST authorization or damages regarded as improper manual operation after inspection.
|
|
•
|
The damages of products such as capture card or I/O due to instrument test or application of testing instrument which causes improper consumption of sockets or golden fingers resulting in usage failure or malfunction of the products.
|
|
•
|
Service or additional devices guaranteed by agents or dealers beyond UPMOST warranty conditions are responsibilities bared by agent or dealers
|
|
•
|
Damages due to unavoidable causes or factors such as natural incidents (flood, fire, earthquake, shock or typhoon), accidents or power failure.
|
|
•
|
Damages due to unprotected movement or shifting after installation.
|
|
•
|
Failures irrelevant to the product itself and due to software application, system problems, computer viruses.
|
|
•
|
Any damage or failure caused by application of any consumables or accessories unauthorized by UPMOST or incompatible to the product specifications.
|
|
•
|
Any improper operation inspected by UPMOST engineers.
|
